Jennifer Nichols


Jennifer Nichols, professional dancer and founder of The Extension Method™, is a CanFit Certified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Elite Athletics Coach. She is a guest teacher for corporate fitness centres and schools, lecturer and presenter, recently appearing on City TV’s Breakfast Television and CBC’s ‘Living in Toronto’. Jennifer’s Extension Method Class has been profiled with glowing reviews in the National Post, The Toronto Star, FASHION Magazine, the KIT magazine, Best Health magazine and WHERE Toronto, and has been featured in online publications Fiterati.com and SweetSpot.ca.

Jennifer’s work has extended to the realm of professional sport, and she has developed cross-training programs for national competitive synchronized swimming and figure skating teams. She continues to dance professionally, both onstage and in film and television, as an independent artist and co-director/ founder of the dance company ‘Hit & Run Dance Productions’.

Ana Cukic


Ana has been an athlete for over 20 years: which includes being a former member of the Canadian National Synchronized Swimming Team; 3x Collegiate Team Champion while on full scholarship at The Ohio State University; and last but not least, rounding off her career performing as a professional synchronized swimmer for Cirque Du Soleil’s “O” show in Las Vegas. It was while working in the show that pilates was introduced to Ana, ultimately, transforming her body, her way of thinking and her lifestyle. She became a Body Arts and Science International certified instructor in 2008.

Described as unconventional and courageous, Ana strives to think out of the box and follow her own intuition in her quest for a life with no regrets. Living in Las Vegas exposed her to a variety of people and experiences but more importantly, it helped provide the necessary support to nourish her personal and professional growth. As a part of the Cirque troupe, she learned a lot about creating energy which has brought a certain playfulness to all her work. Always a student, she continues to expand her knowledge of body and spirit through continuing education classes and the community of professionals around her. Appreciating everyone’s individuality and using her experiential past in sport, she develops personalized programming based on an individual’s unique abilities and needs.

Tyler Gledhill


Tyler Gledhill was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He trained at The National Ballet School in Toronto, Het National Balletacademie in Amsterdam, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. While in school he was presented with the Peter Dwyer Scholarship for the Performing Arts and the Lawrence Hasket Memorial Award. He began his career in The Netherlands with Intordans, touring throughout Europe and Asia. Next he danced with The Göteborg Ballet and Cullberg Ballet in Sweden.

Tyler is now an independent artist, based in Toronto. He works with Hit & Run Productions, Opera Atelier, The Chimera Project, ProArte Danza and DA Hoskins. For his role in DA Hoskins’ PARIS1994\Gallery in 2010, Tyler was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding performance in a dance show.

Tyler has danced in works by choreographers such as Jirí Kylián, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Tero Saarinen, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Mats Ek and Birgit Cullberg; and created roles in works by Jo Kanamori, Nicolo Fonte, Javier de Frutos, Regina van Berkel, Patrick Delcroix, and Karole Armitage.

Meredith Clinton


Meredith Clinton began her professional dance career with Alberta Ballet where she performed as a student. moved to the New York City to study and performed under renowned choreographer, Merce Cunningham. Through the 8 years she lived in NYC Meredith worked with many New York productions finally taking her to Las Vegas where she was a Las Vegas Show girl in Don Arden’s Jubilee! Meredith will be performing with Opera Atelier this season here in Toronto.

Jessica Panetta


Jessica Panetta danced professionally, as a soloist and taught with The Canadian Ballet Theatre. After retiring her pointe shoes, she was looking for a workout that would fuel her love for dance, music and fitness. Almost two years ago, she joined The Extension Room and has been a proud supporter ever since. Now, as a member of the staff, she is excited to share her passion for The Extension Method with all new and veteran patrons.

Leigh Bush


Leigh Bush is a fully trained STOTT PILATES® Instructor. A former dancer, Leigh was introduced to Pilates 13 years ago after an injury and since then has been passionate about Pilates and it’s ability to change people’s lives. Leigh has recently returned to Toronto after 7 years in Los Angeles where she studied and worked as a professional actor and Pilates Instructor. One of her most valued teaching experiences there was working with Dr. Walker Ozar, D.C., creating individualized and comprehensive treatment plans for injury prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, looking for a new challenge, or recovering from an injury, Pilates can improve how you move, look and feel! Leigh’s mission is to share mind-body exercises that fulfill both fitness and health goals and enrich people's lives.

Valerie Casault


Originally from Ottawa Ontario, Valerie danced competitively, studying jazz, hip hop, theatre jazz, lyrical and tap with the Canadian Dance Factory.
In 2009, she graduated from the Musical Theatre Performance program at St-Lawrence College and has performed in several production throughout Ontario. Selected credits include "The Rocky Horror Show" (Lower Ossington Theatre & Fallen Rock Productions), "Cabaret" (Hart House) and "Tweed: A New Canadian Musical" (IANA Theatre Company).

She has worked for dance toronto dance companies such as The Bombshell Beauties (Nuvo-Burlesque by Carla Catherwood) and The Dance Company. Most recently, Valerie toured Eastern Canada with Koba Entertainment's bilingual production of "Toopy and Binoo and the Marshmallow Moon". Valerie is thrilled to have completed her Extension Method Teacher Training, and is excited to be joining the staff at the Extension Room. She looks forward to sharing her love of all things dance and fitness with you. "Meet you at the barre!"

Anisa Tejpar


Originally from Toronto, Anisa Tejpar is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School, and has also trained with, among others, Chrystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Wim Wanderkeybus, Christine Wright, and Alexandra Beller in Europe and New York City. She has danced for companies such as Toronto Dance Theatre, as an intern, and currently is a member of ProArteDanza, and The Chimera Project. She has performed works by Christopher House, Matjash Mrozewski, John Neumeier, Ginette Laurin, Robert Derosiers, Robert Glumbek, Roberto Campanella, D.A. Hoskins, James Kudelka, Karen Duplesis, and Malgorzata Nowacka. She has appeared in films such as Steppin’ Up: Save the Last Dance 2, Moze Mossanen’s From Time to Time, and the BravoFACT Swan Song. With fellow dancer Jennifer Nichols, Tejpar is the Co-Director of the dance entertainment firm Hit & Run Productions (www.hitandrun.ca) for which she has choreographed works for The Rolling Stones, Warner Bros., Fashion Cares, M.A.C. Cosmetics, CTV, PUMA, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the feature film /Barney’s Version’.

Julia Cosentino


Julia Cosentino is a Toronto based dancer, and fitness enthusiast. In 2012 she received her BFA Honors Degree in Dance from York University with a specialty in pedagogy, and a minor in kinesiology. Since graduating, Julia has been training in a variety of styles, including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, and street dance. She has worked with esteemed and emerging artists in the GTA, including Roberto Campanella, Robert Glumbek, Hannah Kiel, Evelyn Hart, Benjamin Landsberg, Bonnie Kim, Jennifer Nichols and Anisa Tejpar. She has performed with ProArteDanza, Hit & Run Dance Productions, Rutherford Movement Exchange, Lady Luck Productions, Rock Bottom Movement, C-MART Worldwide, and has appeared in the new television series, “Reign”. Julia is one of the founding members of the Toronto dance collective, The Garage, an organization that intends to support emerging artists, and provide a community for them to be a part of.

Julia’s passion for dance and her extensive background are an integral part of her, and have truly inspired her to maintain a healthy, active, and balanced lifestyle. In addition to her dance training, she is a Moksha Yoga enthusiast, and is thrilled to be on the Extension Method team. Julia is a believer of the Extension Method because it is inclusive, and adaptable for all people. Furthermore, it utilizes the true essence of ballet technique, strength and endurance, coupled with elegance and poise, to truly challenge the body, mind and soul. Julia is excited to share her knowledge and expertise in dance with the community, and is determined to inspire others to live an active lifestyle through dance.

Kate Garrett


Katharine Garrett began her formal training at the Edmonton Dance Centre under the direction of Deborah Morgan. There she achieved her ARAD. By joining Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s graduate program, she was given the opportunity to dance with the company in works from such choreographers as Glen Tetley, Balanchine, and Ben Stevenson. Her career has allowed her to work with Alberta Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Ballet Metropolitain, and Ballet Jorgen Canada. As well as teaching at The Extension Room, Katharine is a guest faculty member at Dance Teq.

Jamie Holmes


Jamie Holmes is a professional performer and fitness instructor with a career that has spanned more than 10 years. Her career has taken her around the world performing on many different stages, as well as teaching Master Classes in Fitness, Dance and Aerial silks. Jamie is certified and teaches a wide spectrum of Fitness classes from Bootcamp to Pilates, from Spinning to Dance Cardio Classes. Her performing career has taken her to Vegas, around the world on Cruiseships, to Europe and Dubai. Her love for teaching has her constantly in demand for workshops and choreography in the United States and across Canada. Since living in Vegas and being bit by the Circus Bug, you can see Jamie performing high above an audience as well as on the ground. She also teaches Aerial Silks for dancers in her Master Classes, to anyone of any age who might have dreamed of being in the circus, or to those that just want to increase core and upper body strength. Jamie is co-president of La Rouge Entertainment, a corporate entertainment provider in Toronto, Canada.

Lily McEvenue


Lily McEvenue is a Toronto based performing artist. She began her training at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada under the direction of Gizella Witkowsky. During her training, Lily had the pleasure of dancing at The Banff Festival for the Arts, The International Cechetti Ballet Competition, The Juilliard School, and The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Since then, Lily has danced with Opera Atelier in such productions as Der Freischutz, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute, as well as Armide, which toured to the Chateau de Versailles in France and the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY. Lily has also been a Principal Guest Artist with the Greater Niagara Ballet Company, performing the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in their production of The Nutcracker. Most recently, Lily was seen playing Victoria, the white cat, in the All Canadian Cast of “CATS” at the Panasonic Theatre. Currently, Lily teaches theatre and dance at studios around the city. She will be seen next performing in the Charlottetown Festival in Canada Rocks! and Anne of Green Gables. Lily is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Extension Room team!

Shawn Bracke

Heel Strut & Contemporary

Shawn's career as a dancer/choreographer and instructor has taken him all over the world. He was raised in Edmonton, AB where he trained in studio and graduated from Victoria School for the Performing Arts. After graduating he moved to Vancouver to dance with The Source Dance co. for a season, once the season finished he danced with Royal Caribbean Int. for 3 contracts the final being in an all aerial show. Following completion of the third contract he moved to London, UK where he lived for two years dancing/choreographing commercially and working as a teacher. Some major credits include: ABC, BBC, Nintendo, Converse, HP/Intel & Hot Chip.

As a teacher, he has been able to work in many locations and has seen a plethora of talent. He has taught in Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, the Caribbean, the UK, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Prominent studios have included: Harbour Dance Centre (Vancouver), Pineapple, Studio 68 (London, UK), Liverpool Institute for the Arts (Liverpool, UK) and Studio Harmonic (Paris, France). He teaches all ages and levels. Currently he lives in Toronto where he continues to work as a dancer/choreographer and teacher.

Megan Scully


Megan Scully is originally from Ottawa, Ontario and grew up dancing competitively at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance. She studied ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre and contemporary. Megan had the opportunity to dance major roles with the Linda Jamieson Company Dancers in The Nutcracker and Giselle and competed in countless dance competitions. Megan attended the University of Guelph to study Nutrition, but her passion for dance continued. She was part of the university dance team for four years, dancing at multiple basketball games and attending a few competitions each year. She also took a year off from her studies to dance onboard the Norwegian Spirit Cruise Ship. She performed in the production shows “On Broadway” and “On The Radio.” After graduating from Guelph University, Megan completed her internship training at Capital Health in Halifax and is now a Registered Dietitian. Megan is very excited to become part of the team at the Extension Room. The discovery of the Extension Method was pure gold in Megan’s eyes and she is thrilled to share her passion for dance, fitness and an overall healthy lifestyle with all of you!

Cynthia Smithers


Cynthia is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Extension Method team and looks forward to sharing her love of dance! She is a seasoned performer as both a dancer and singer, and has performed for various companies, including six seasons with Opera Atelier. Highlights and favourites include Armide at the Glimmerglass Opera Festival in New York and the Royal Opera House in Versailles, France; Amore in Opera Atelier's L'incoronazione di Poppea; Lucio Silla for Mozart Week and the Salzburg Festival in Austria; and most recently, The Sound of Music with Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton. Having complete a Master's Degree in Musicology, Cynthia also teaches voice, piano, and music theory and history.

Jennifer Moore


Halifax native Jen started her acrobatic career in 1997 with competitive cheerleading and has been dancing hip hop and break dancing since 2000. After joining the ABS Crew, it has allowed her to merge the two genera she loves most, the dynamic stunting and acrobatics with the hip hop and breaking. Jen’s high energy and swagger brings a unique vibe to the stage when performing. As a teacher, Jen is skilled at introducing the movement hip hop to all ages and skill levels. Touring across Canada with Cirque Sublime for the show ‘Adamo’, Jen has expanded her training from the ground to aerial acts such as scaffolding, teeterboard, hoop and silks. She has also performed for many corporate events such as a Canada Tour for Blackberry, Opening Ceremonies for Casino Rama, Fallsview Casino, and Dragon Ball Ceremonies held at The Toronto Convention Center. Jen also finds great passion in performing for such events as street shows, festivals and busking. Her dedication to challenging herself and training demonstrates clearly while teaching or performing. Join Jen for her featured hip hop, cirque fit, and handstand classes at the Extension Room!

Jeremy Nasmith


Jeremy Nasmith trained at the School of Atelier Ballet and the National Ballet School before joining the National Ballet of Canada in 1996. After achieving the rank of Second Soloist and dancing in many signature roles such as Puck in Ashton’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Uncle Nikolai in James Kudelka’s the Nutcracker, Mr. Nasmith left the National Ballet to pursue a freelance career which saw him perform with and choreograph for various companies in Canada, Japan and Europe. As a teacher, Mr. Nasmith regularly teaches at DanceTeq, Opera Atelier and Ballet Jorgen in Toronto, Architanz in Tokyo, and as a guest teacher with various other schools in Japan.

Cristina Tucciarone


Cristina is a graduate of the National Ballet School, graduating with Honours and earning the Governor General’s Academic Medal for academic excellence. While at the National Ballet School, Cristina performed in ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, Chopiniana, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake. In addition to training at the National Ballet School, Cristina also trained during summers at L'École Supérieur de Danse Cannes Rosella Hightower (France), The Banff Centre for the Arts (Alberta), and the Pacific Northwest Ballet School (USA). From 2004-2012, Cristina danced professionally with Ballet Jorgen Canada and performed in many ballets including Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, and Anastasia as well as original works by renowned choreographers. Presently, Cristina is an independent dancer in Toronto and is currently working with Signal Theatre.

Angel Wong


Angel Wong was born in Hong Kong and trained at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne, Australia. She has worked with the Hong Kong Ballet, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ballet Jorgen Canada and Proartedanza. Ms Wong’s repertoire during her ten year career includes principal roles in Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Gardee, The Nutcracker and Anastasia. She has also danced in many contemporary works, including creations by Kit Holder, Kevin O’Day, Roberto Campenella and Robert Glumbeck.

Ms. Wong also holds a Bachelors of Design from OCAD University. She has designed sets and costumes for Robert Stephen, Jacob Niedzwiecki, Hit and Run Dance Productions, and a tutu for the National Ballet of Canada’s Tutu Project in 2012. She is now the creative director of & FOR LOVE, a bohemian inspired contemporary bridal collection based in Toronto.

She currently dances with Toronto’s Opera Atelier.
